News LITESTAR 4D 1.0

  • New Interface – LITESTAR 4D has a new interface which has been studied to be particularly powerful and simple to use, and able to perform highly complex operations in just a few seconds. The interface is based on essentials, to avoid having a packed screen, and ergonomic, in order to simplify even the most complex operations
  • Drag&Drop –All operations regarding the choice of the different objects (luminaires, furniture, DXF - 3DS - OBJ files….) can now be performed by using the Drag&Drop function which is extremely handy and dynamic
  • OXL – LITESTAR 4D introduces a new data exchange format, called OXL, fully developed by OxyTech, which is just the natural evolution of Eulumdat and IES format files. The OXL file allows the management of the 3D file of the luminaires together with the corresponding photometries, all within a single file. There is a single OXL file for each luminaire and each OXL file can either be linked to the corresponding product in the Liswin catalog or be used separately
  • Disappearance of Fotom.FDB – the use of the FDB database, which was the photometric data management system of luminaires, has come to an end and will give way to the new OXL format and Liswin catalog to which the OXL files will from now on be linked
  • Compatibility Windows 7 – LITESTAR 4D is now compatible not only with Windows 7 but with Windows Vista, Windows XP and Windows NT too. It can no longer be used with Windows 2000
  • New Licenses – the launch of LITESTAR 4D entails a series of changes in the Licenses for the use of the program as stated in the following options:
    • Freeware License (free of charge) of LITESTAR Open: this is the LITESTAR Open License that can be downloaded from the Software/Download area of WebOxy (www.oxytech.it). LITESTAR Open does not include some of the features that are available in the Professional version, such as the advanced roads module, galleries, advanced calculations, etc.
    • Single Licenses of LITESTAR Pro: LITESTAR Pro, the Professional version, is available in 2 different types of License, License B (that includes a series of additional services, such as assistance, courses….) and License G (in which services are not included). Extra licenses are no longer available
    • License R – Shared (only for manufacturers): this is the License that allows to transfer the data of the products through the LITESTAR Open program, which can be either downloaded from WebOxy or distributed by partner companies, and LITESTAR Pro program. License R replaces the Ready to Use license and integrates the On Request License
    • Copy License F – this is the License that allows producers to have an exclusively customized program. The options contained in the previous License C can now be found in license F

Litecalc

  • 2D-3D Interface – it is possible to work indiscriminately on 2D and/or 3D views, even simultaneously, in the definition of the area and the project
  • Color Filters – a function for the management of color filters has been added. The filter can be defined according to different coordinates and systems
  • Luminaire Choice – Folder, Catalog and WebCatalog – the choice of the luminaires can be performed in several different ways:
    • from a folder – it is enough to open a folder in the computer, to pick an Eulumdat, IES or OXL file and drag it within the working plane
    • from a local catalog – just open the catalog, choose a product by using the available search functions and Drag&Drop it straight into the working plane
    • from WebCatalog in the Internet – in this case choose one catalog among those available, choose the product and drag its image into the working plane: all data will automatically be downloaded and saved in the local database and the product will be immediately ready to use
  • Calculation Procedure – the calculation algorithm, based on the Photon Mapping method, has been boosted in this version. In addition, spectral calculation has been integrated to take into account the light and color transmission phenomena. The Photon Mapping method allows both speed and accuracy in calculation and as a result complex situations can be developed in just a few seconds. The following features can be dealt with for any type of surface, be it flat and/or curved:
    • transparence
    • diffusion and diffraction
    • specularity
    • roughness
  • Smoothing in Ray-Tracing – it is now available the smoothing algorithm (smoothing and polishing) with which complex surfaces, characterised in 3D files by numerous flat surfaces, are represented in the rendering the same way they would look in real life
  • 3D Luminaire Form – LITESTAR 4D allows the management of the 3D files of the luminaire, thanks to the new OXL format that integrates both photometric and dimensional data within the same file
  • 3DS - OBJ - DXF Files Management –the three-dimensional files in 3DS and OBJ format can be imported within the working plane by using the Drag&Drop command and are considered to be objects in all senses and can therefore be resized according to our needs. The two-dimensional DXF files, usually used as a background, can be imported in the same way by using the Drag&Drop command

Liswin

  • Interface – the classical Liswin interface has been modified so as to include the image of the polar diagram of the luminaire and at least 2 images of it, laid out now vertically
  • Direct Access to Photoview – it is now possible to access directly the photometric data management module Photoview: it is enough to select a product with a photometry (FOT indication in corresponding column) and click on the Pv Photoview Icon
  • Drag&Drop from WebCatalog –the Drag&Drop from WebCatalog consents the transfer of photometric data, which were not available through the catalog before

Photoview

  • Photoview instead of Photowin – Photoview fully replaces Photowin, that together with the FDB database are bound to disappear. All matrix management features such as normalization, symmetrization, interpolation…have consequently been integrated in Photoview.
  • Graphic and Table Customization – a system for dealing with the customization of the program in a simple and rational way has been developed. Customers will be able from now on to make use of specific graph and table layouts without having to perform particular or burdensome updating operations: everything will be dinamically managed via Internet.

Lisdat

  • Linking Photometry-Catalog - a series of features have been introduced that allow the linking of the OXL files of the photometries and the 3D files of luminaires to the catalog.
